Our Story
It’s hard to imagine that it’s been over 30 years since the inception of Mahler Music Center. In the beginning, there were only a few shelves with accordions, sheet music, cases, and accessories. Within a year, you could barely recognize the shop.
Over the years, Ken has instructed over 500 students ranging from five to seventy-five years of age. Many have gone into professional careers in music.
Today, the store is packed with accordions, button boxes, concertinas, and a plethora of other small instruments. You may even find a few relics among the stock. Stop in or tune in from time to time to get an inside view of what happens at Mahler Music Center – AccordionHeaven.com.
Our Mascot
We are proud of our Italian Snoopy Statue. Fully equipped with his accordion in hand, he is the first image you see welcoming you as you walk in the door.
Our Snoopy was one of many statues that were created in honor of Minneapolis born, St. Paul native Charles Schulz, shortly after his death. Over 100 statues can be found across the metro. We’re grateful to have the Italian Snoopy in our store.
Meet Ken Mahler, Owner/Operator
Professional Musician, Instructor, Accordion and Electronics Technician, and Appraiser
What set my business apart from the Amazon, eBay, big box stores, and other accordion shops is a genuine passion to help aspiring musicians learn how to play the accordion. I set out 30 years ago to build a small business that serves in a really big way. My little business offers a full range of services that you won’t find on Amazon, eBay, Guitar Center, Walmart and most likely other accordion shops.
When shopping for an instrument from a non-accordion dealer, buyer beware, do your research. Be careful of corrosion, rust, mildew, damage or signs of abuse. I’d hate to see you throw good money at a bad instrument.
There are many factors involved in purchasing an accordion. Size, style, weight, playability and much more. Each accordion is designed for a player with specific needs.
